Short answer: The PBCube WR is worth CA$125 if you compete or practise daily and want to tune every detail of how your cube feels. Its 512 setups are eight times what the AoLong V6 or WeiLong V11 offer. If you just want a fast, stable cube, the WeiLong V11 (CA$72) or AoLong V6 (CA$65) gets you most of the performance for about half the price. However if you want the best cube that is also designed by the champion, then you should get the PBCube WR.

“It’s the most adjustable MoYu 3ร3 I’ve used, and once it’s set up it turns as well as anything on the market. But it took me longer to set up than the WeiLong V11, and it’s less forgiving of the wrong lube or tension.”

What the CA$125 buys you
Most of the PBCube WR’s hardware matches MoYu’s other flagships: a 20-magnet ball-core, UV coating and MagLev. The difference is the tuning. MoYu’s other top 3ร3s usually have 64 setups (8 ร 8). While the PBCube WR has three adjustments with 8 levels each: tension, MagLev elasticity and magnet strength, giving 8 ร 8 ร 8 = 512 combinations. A single dial sets the magnet strength, changing the ball-core pull, the edge and corner magnets and the ball-core repulsion together. The cube was developed with 3ร3 World Champion Yiheng Wang, and it ships set to his settings: tension 1, elasticity 1, magnet strength 8.
Out of the box
- Turning feel: fast but controlled, with a crunchier piece-to-piece feel and a deeper, less clacky sound than the AoLong V6. At about 72g it’s 5g heavier than the AoLong V6, and it feels more solid and durable in the hand.
- Corner cutting and stability: excellent corner cutting and strong auto-alignment. On Yiheng’s setup (loose tension, strongest magnets) we got a few corner twists and overturns at first due to my loose setup, until we tightened it a step.
- Magnet feel: at magnet strength 8 the ball-core pull is strong and snappy, stronger than the WeiLong V11. And you can adjust the magnet feel if you think it is too strong or weak.
Andy’s setup
- Settings: tension 3, elasticity 4, magnet strength 7. That’s a step tighter and a little stronger magnet than Wang’s setup, which kept the speed but stopped the overturns.
- Lube: a light silicone lube like Cubicle Mystic on the core tracks, and a fast lube like DNM-37 on the pieces. Go easy: too much lube or tension makes this cube feel sluggish.
What we didn’t like
- Price: at CA$125 it costs nearly twice as much as the WeiLong V11.
- Fussy setup: it’s more sensitive to lube, tension and magnet strength than MoYu’s other flagships. Too much of any of them makes it feel sluggish.
- Too many choices: 512 setups is a lot to explore. Newer cubers may never find a better setting than the default.

FAQ
Is the MoYu PBCube WR worth it?
Yes, if you compete and enjoy tuning your cube. For casual solving, the WeiLong V11 or AoLong V6 offer the same core features for about half the price.
What does “WR” stand for?
MoYu markets the cube as “born for world records”, so WR is read as world record. It’s the flagship of PBCube, MoYu’s sub-brand.
Who designed the PBCube WR?
MoYu developed it with Yiheng Wang, the 2025 3×3 World Champion.
How many settings does the PBCube WR have?
512, from a triple adjustment system. Most MoYu flagships have 64.
What are the best settings for the PBCube WR?
It ships on Yiheng Wang’s setup: tension 1, elasticity 1, magnet strength 8. If it overturns or the corners twist, try tighter for example, tension 3, elasticity 4 and magnets 7.
PBCube WR or GAN 17 MagDrive?
Both are top-end flagships from two of the biggest cube brands at a similar price (CA$125 vs CA$120). Pick the PBCube WR for the most tuning options and MoYu’s ball-core feel, or the GAN 17 for GAN’s brand new MagDrive system.
Do you ship the PBCube WR in Canada and Hong Kong?
Yes. Canadian orders ship from Markham, free over CA$60. Hong Kong orders ship from our stock in Fanling.
