Description

The GAN 17 MagDrive UV is GAN’s 2026 flagship 3×3, built around a new magnetic system called MagDrive. Magnets in the core, the stalks and the pieces work together through every turn, so the cube feels locked-on and stable while staying fast and light.

MagDrive: magnetic force through the whole turn

The heart of the GAN 17 is a compact 17.5mm core with 20 magnets. It works with magnets at the base of the edge and corner pieces to form a 40-magnet core system, keeping magnetic force active through the full turn, not just when a layer lines up.

196 magnets, no blind spots

196 magnets spread through the cube keep the core and outer layers working together. GAN also uses dual magnetic repulsion: the edge stalk magnets and the edge pieces push against each other, and so do the centre pieces and corner stalks. This reduces friction for a smooth, levitating feel.

Full-freedom tuning

• 72-gear tension dial: 12 magnetic tension gears and 6 centre-travel gears let you set your tension in numbered steps with the included tuning tool.
• 3-gear corner magnet rods: switch between strong (green), medium (white), and light (Blue) corner magnets.
